The method

One pass, and it's done

Forestry mulching grinds standing brush, saplings and small trees down to chip and leaves it spread across the ground. There is no second stage: nothing to pile, nothing to load, nothing to truck off, no burn permit and no week of watching a smouldering heap.

That mulch layer isn't waste, it shades the soil, holds moisture, slows erosion on slopes and breaks down over a season or two. On pasture and hunting ground it's a better finish than bare dirt.

Because it's a single operation, mulching is usually the cheaper way to open up acreage, and it's far less disruptive to the ground than pushing everything into a pile with a dozer.

The local problem

Eastern redcedar

Oklahoma loses roughly 300,000 acres a year to eastern redcedar encroachment. It moves into unburned, ungrazed ground fast, and once it's established it takes the water, shades out the grass and turns usable pasture into a thicket.

Cedar is exactly what a mulcher is built for. It grinds green, it doesn't need to dry before burning, and the chip goes straight back on the ground. Clear it before the stems get heavy and the job gets cheaper per acre.

Capability

What it handles

Light regrowth moves quickly; heavy cedar and mature timber take longer per acre. We'll walk the property with you and give you a day count with your estimate.

We run mulching heads, brush cutters and the machines to carry them, and if a stand is heavier than that, we bring in whatever the job takes to get it cleared.

Terrain

Where we mulch

Wooded lots, fence lines and property boundaries, uneven and awkward ground, and tight access around structures, gates and utilities. We look at the site before we quote so the machine and the approach match the ground.

If access is genuinely difficult (narrow gates, close-set buildings, sloping or broken ground), say so when you call and we'll walk it before committing to a plan.

Parker Key and his sons did an amazing job on my property with forestry mulching and tree removal! They had the right heavy equipment for the job, and were fast and efficient. They took care of large dead trees that were threatening my house and fences, mulched the large piles of tree debris I had been accumulating, and cleared swaths of 40 year overgrowth that were crowding my fences. Highly recommend!

Parker came out and we discussed what would work for us and he leveled an area making a pad on our land, they also mulched another area where we needed the trees cleared from. They are very professional and I would recommend them for any excavation or mulching that you may need.

I highly recommend KeyCraftsman. They did an incredible job clearing out my land. The property was heavily overgrown with brush, trees, and vegetation, and they completely transformed it into a clean, open, usable space. They showed up with the right equipment, worked efficiently, and really took pride in doing the job right. The before-and-after difference is huge. If you need land clearing, brush removal, or property cleanup around the Oklahoma City or surrounding area, I would definitely recommend KeyCraftsman. Great work, professional service, and results that speak for themselves. I'll absolutely use them again for future projects.

We had dirt work and concrete work done in our backyard and had a great experience from start to finish. He was professional, communicated with us throughout the entire process, and most importantly, showed a lot of integrity in the way he handled the job. He did what he said he was going to do and made sure things were done right. We're very happy with the finished work and would absolutely use him again for future projects. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for someone reliable, honest, and professional.
